Hi, my name is

AMANDA

I’ve always believed in the art of preserving what matters — the subtle, meaningful moments that tell a story far beyond the frame.

This blog is a place to explore the heart of photography. Whether you’re planning a portrait session, searching for inspiration, or simply drawn to beautiful imagery with purpose, you’ll find thoughtful guidance and timeless ideas here.

I’m so glad you’ve found your way to this space. You’re always welcome here.

The Dog That Changed Everything — How I Got Started in Pet Photography

Before Oakley, I was a devoted Great Dane mom, perfectly content photographing families, seniors, and editorial sessions. Our Great Danes were gentle giants — couch dwellers, snuggle buddies, slow-moving and soulful. Life with them was calm and beautifully predictable.

And then came Oakley.

A Belgian Malinois. A working breed. A hurricane wrapped in fur and fire.

Nothing could have prepared me for the shift that Oakley brought into our lives. He didn’t just enter our home — he redefined it. Suddenly, structure mattered more than style. Training became sacred. Our walks turned into missions, and quiet moments became victories.

Oakley wasn’t here to lounge. He was here to work, to bond, to sharpen every sense I had — including my creativity.

Somewhere between those early, chaotic days of blood (literal), tears (abundant), and breakthroughs, I found myself reaching for my camera not as a professional, but as a witness. I didn’t want to forget the moments that were transforming me — the ways Oakley looked at me when we were in sync, or the triumphant tilt of his head after mastering something new.

I wasn’t taking photos anymore. I was documenting devotion.

And suddenly, I realized: this was the work I was meant to do.

Dog portraiture wasn’t just a pivot — it was a homecoming.

What started as a personal mission to preserve my own story has now become a calling to help others do the same. Whether your dog is a firecracker like Oakley or a gentle soul like our Danes, your bond is worthy of legacy.

Of fine art. Of reverence.

Because they don’t just fill our homes. They shape our hearts.

And that’s why I do what I do.

Our Deeper Mission: Honoring the Dogs Who Serve

At the heart of our work lies not just a love of dogs — but a reverence for the roles they play beyond companionship.

We’ve become profoundly passionate about supporting the incredible humans and heroic working dogs who protect and serve our communities — whether locally in Lancaster, across the nation, or while on active duty overseas.

Through every session booked, we contribute to organizations that support:

  • - Working K9s in law enforcement and military service

  • - Service dogs paired with veterans

  • - Programs aiding the transition and retirement of these loyal protectors

It’s our honor to give back to those whose loyalty knows no bounds. Because some dogs aren’t just man’s best friend — they’re also our bravest defenders.

Thank you for being part of a portrait experience that gives back.
